Why this tool

6 SPEED, 8000-12000 RPM: Six speed settings from 8000 to 12000 RPM. Use the low settings on soft wood, paint and plastic, where too much speed digs in or melts the surface; use the high settings on hardwood and metal to take material off fast.
RANDOM ORBITAL ACTION FOR A SWIRL-FREE FINISH: The pad spins and moves in small random orbits at the same time, so no single grit scratch repeats in the same path. That is what lets a random orbital sander leave a smooth, even surface without the circular swirl marks a plain rotary sander leaves.
350W COPPER MOTOR: A 350W motor with 100% copper windings keeps the pad moving when you lean into a rough patch, instead of stalling. Copper runs cooler than aluminium windings, so this electric sander holds its speed over a long session and lasts longer.
5 INCH (125MM) VELCRO PAD: The standard 5 inch (125mm) hook-and-loop pad takes sanding discs that are easy to find in any hardware shop. Changing grit takes seconds: peel the used disc off and press the next one on, with no clamps or tools.
DUST BAG AND VACUUM HOSE CONNECTOR: Sanding dust is pulled through the pad into the dust bag while you work, so less fine powder settles on the surface, the floor and your lungs, and you can see the finish as it develops. For bigger jobs the port takes a vacuum hose connector, so a shop vacuum can carry the dust away instead.
WOOD SANDING MACHINE — AND METAL AND PLASTIC: Works on wood, steel and plastic. Smooth planks and plywood, strip old paint and varnish from doors and furniture, clean up rust and weld marks on steel, and key plastic surfaces before painting.
ERGONOMIC, LOW VIBRATION — 1.5 KG: Held in one hand like a palm sander, with a grip shaped for long sessions and low vibration so your hand does not go numb before the job is done. At 1.5 kg it is light enough to work vertical surfaces such as doors and cabinet sides without your arm giving out.
2 METRE CABLE — RUNS ON 230V: Plugs into any ordinary 230V socket, with steady power for as long as the job takes and no battery to run flat. The 2 metre cable gives enough reach to move around a table, a door or a cabinet from one socket.
